           Summary: imap repeated downloading of already read messages
           Product: kmail
           Version: 1.12.4
          Platform: unspecified
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: NEW
          Severity: normal
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general
        AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs at kde.org
        ReportedBy: gassauer at kde.org

Version:           1.12.4 (using 4.3.4 (KDE 4.3.4) "release 2", KDE:43 /
openSUSE_11.2)
Compiler:          gcc
OS:                Linux (x86_64) release 2.6.31.5-0.1-desktop

Config: IMAP + download attachments on demand

On very slow lines I see in the progress window one - and sometimes many -
download processes running for the same message - even if the message was
already displayed before.

or is it necessary to configure the account as "disconnected IMAP" ?

if so it seems to be a wish to create a "hybrid" system - i.e. caching already
downloaded mails until reaching a certain configurable
*  quota
*  age.

at least I do not want to store all mails + attachments (some GB) locally, only
because I am sometimes on very slow or less reliable lines.
