What I was doing when the application crashed:
This is a duplicate of Bug ID no. 218874.

I would like to take this opportunity to suggest the following improvements to
Kmail:

1. When manually saving an an e-mail message while it is being composed, the
compose window should remain open. Currently, the only option is to "Save as
Draft" and when doing the entire compose window is shut down, One has to then
go to Drafts folder to open the message that was being drafted and then resume
composing. This is very inefficient.

2.  I hope that you will be able to provide a method of manually saving the
message being composed without the compose window being closed. You may be
aware that this is possible in Thunderbird.
