Well, I consider scrolling a very basic and consistent key binding that should
not be changed - and probably would be difficult to change because it is in my
opinion implemented in basic qt widgets.

Concerning stepping through the message list you have the functions "next
message" (n) and "previous message" (p) what does exactly what you want. The
keybindings are configurable here.
