I think my problem is rather different. I'd already unsorted my inbox to None
(Storage Order), but I filter the incoming messages if they are greater than
50000 bytes. OK, I will try to remove the filter and see the result.

Just to be clear, the problem you report is: mails are not sorted in arriving
order, right ?
If so, then it's a duplicate of bug 190088
