Fortunately I've never experienced mail loss with KMail. I see you were using
some KDE 4.1 pre-release. As far as I know some dIMAP related mail loss
problems have been solved since then. Could you please retry with the latest
release to see if the problem is still there? (possibly using a test-account)

I think c#5 is completely unrelated and caused by a faulty spam filter
configuration (not faulty due to the user but due to KMail).
