Is there any progress in this case, and is there any time i can expect this problems to be solved?
It seems like some problems are lasting for years, without beeing solved.

With kmail 1.9.9 using kde 3.5.9, it does not work, when i use the configuration that seemed to work little bit better earlier, and i have now workaround anymore: Kmail freezes after i accept any invitation to meeting.

KDE has a lot of smart solutions that make it possible to work real efficient. There are some basiq features in KDE that are real flexible and smart. In any KDE-application, you can use any protocol to save and open files on remote computers. You can use ftp, samba, fish/scp, imap, etc. And the dialogs to open and save files, has a userinterface that is just a dream. Konsole is just a miracle. Konqueror has its web-shortcuts. You can do almost anything with quick touches on the keyboard.

I would like to teach a lot of my collegues how they can work smart with KDE. I think they could manage to produce a lot more during an ordinary working day, if they were jusing KDE, and if they could learn a lot of tricks.

Now i am struggling to find any realiable version of KDE, that i can show to people. Will there be any in the future?

When it comes to the pim-applications of KDE, they have a lot of features that were just amazing when they arrived years ago: There are features for integration with other systems. KDE got support for communication with bluetooth devices and exchange servers, and ldap etc. Integration is just a must today when people are woring with many devices, and in big companies where people have many systems.
The problem with almost all of these functions for the pim-applications, is that they does not work. When they arrived, they appeared to be half developed alfa-versions. And users like me were waiting for new releases, and we tried new releases as they come, just to find out that the developement had stopped. The integration between KDE-pim and rest of the world does not work.

I can't show kde-pim applications to people and tell them that this is KDE. They will hate KDE for life.

I love kmail, since it is integrated to KDE, and it has all the KDE-benefits. But kmail gives me daily pain. When i accept any invitation to a meeting, kmail usually crashes. And if it does not crash, it removes the invitation. The invitation is somehow saved locally on the computer by korganizer, but that does not help me much, when i use a lot of different pcs. The imap-support in kmail, is present, just to give you headaqe. And the word wrap in the kmail composer is another thing that make life hard.

On a day like this: I enter the office in the morning. Kmail and all the windows of other x-applications that i run on a remote Mandriva-pc, is frozen. That pc does not answer to ssh either, and i tried to connect a screen and keybord to it, without getting any respons. I had to shut it down by disconnecting the power cable. It boots up, and i can connect via ssh. I start kopete, and then kmail starts on its own. I read mail and accept an invitation. Then the kmail-window freezes again. I terminate the kmail-window wich dissappear, and i try to kill the kmail-process, but i don't manage to get rid of the kmail-process, until i quit kopete and kmail restarts on its own.

I planned to set up a terminal server where my coworkers could run kde, or kde-applications, but it does not work.

I am happy for all the good work that people have donated to KDE and for all the good solutions. But i am sorry for all the things that does not work.
