Summary: kmail uses excessive amounts of CPU when checking email
           Product: kmail
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: FreeBSD Ports
        OS/Version: FreeBSD
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general
        AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs kde org
        ReportedBy: darius dons net au

Version: (using KDE 3.5.8)
Installed from: FreeBSD Ports
Compiler: gcc version 4.2.1 20070719 [FreeBSD]

OS: FreeBSD

kmail (standalone and in kontact) uses a lot of CPU (eg 40% of my Pentium-M 1.4GHz) when checking email. I find this pretty surprising because I would have thought it would be a bandwidth limited task.

I don't really know what I can try to work out what it's spending it's time doing though :(
