Summary: phantom mail in folder list
           Product: kmail
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: Debian testing
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general
        AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs kde org
        ReportedBy: volker-wysk web de

Version: 3.5.8 (using KDE 3.5.8)
Installed from: Debian testing/unstable Packages
Compiler: 4:4.1.2-9ubuntu2
OS: Linux

I have had trouble with kmail and started over with a completely blank installation. I've purged the kmail package, removed the ~/Mail folder and deleted everything with "kmail" in the file name in ~/.kde and its subdirectories. All existing folders (except for the inbox) should be empty.

The directories in ~/Mail are all empty. The folder list shows "-" as the size of the folders ("outbox", "sent mail" etc.).

But when you select a folder, a folder size mysteriously appears in the size column of the folder list. For instance, it changes from "-" to "13,7 kB" for the outbox folder. The directories in ~/Mail are still empty.

Apart from the bug: How can I get a new, completely empty installation of kmail?
