[Bug 169023] Kmail loses mail when it freezes after I'd moved some to an other folder (DIMAP). DATA LOSS.

As you say that this crash happens regularly, could you have a look at http://techbase.kde.org/Development/Tutorials/Debugging/How_to_create_useful_crash_reports and install the debug packages for your distribution so that? This way you can paste a good backtrace the next time it crashes for you.
