The problem I have is that kmail will hang at any of the following actions :
1) After opening kmail, just wait a while
2) Open Settings->configure Kmail->Accounts.
3) click the "check mail" button. 

What I've done so far :
I moved my Mail folder and moved all settings from ~/.kde/config/kmail* and ~/.kde/share/kmail out of the way. This caused kmail to come up with a wizard. Unfortunately as soon as I click the last button (finish) after setting up the initial account kmail hangs again.

I've had it wait for a long time (>20minutes) and nothing seems to happen. Also my CPU usage is not high at that moment, kmail is just not responding.

When I start kmail I only see the following :
$ kmail
WeaverThreadLogger: thread (ID: 1) suspended.
WeaverThreadLogger: thread (ID: 2) suspended.
WeaverThreadLogger: thread (ID: 3) suspended.
WeaverThreadLogger: thread (ID: 4) suspended.
