Summary: It is not a bug but a comment about password storage of
kmail in kde 3.5.7 for a session
           Product: kmail
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: Ubuntu Packages
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: wishlist
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general
        AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs kde org
        ReportedBy: gradhakrishna gmail com

Version: kontact 1.2.5 (using KDE KDE 3.5.7)
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages
OS: Linux

In Bug 48461: kmail should remember smtp password, users asked for this feature and was implemented in kde 3.5.7 . It is a great feature for anyone who has a short session.

I do not log out off kde for days/weeks. So it would be good to have an option of making kmail not to remember the passwords also. What I am suggesting is to have options like what gnome presents.
(atleast in the settings).

1) Store SMTP password in kwallet.
2) Remember SMTP password for this session.
3) DO not remember SMTP password.

This would be a very helpfull feature for people working in a lab and not worrying about other people sending email through your smtp account

Radha Krishna
