I can't get a screenshot of it... because, all I have is a multi-colored screen, not even a mouse... nothing but very narrow multi-colored lines... up and down the screen... 
However, I have learned one thing more... I installed and updated ClamAV and it does almost the same thing... the lines in the boxes (windo__) title bars... but it doesn't lock up as reliably... it only locks up once in a blue moon and only when I have the entire display (configuration panel) open... and then intermittently at that... very strange stuff... so, the problem is NOT Kmail... it is something that Kmail and ClamAV and/or KlamAV are calling (aka: using)... Hmmmm
