If I am using the standard 3-panel-view with the messagepreview at bottom right, and I delete the message wich Iam actually viewing, another message will be selected.
If I don't want to read all the other messages in folder (e.g. mailing-lists), but I want to see which messages are read, this behavior is uncomfortable and in the case of IMAP it produce unwanted traffic.
Since there is a plugin for thunderbird ("Unselect Message"), this seems to be not only my special wish..
