I can not reproduce.

Can you try to reproduce that bug and post the steps to reproduce here?
What part of Kontact was shown at the time of the crash? The mail part?
What kind of mail was shown in the message viewer at the time of the crash? Was the sender also on your Kopete contact list? Did the mail have attached vcards? Were you using drag&drop at the time of the crash? Are you really using IRIX?
