To reproduce

Open a file from sftp://server/directory/filename. (I used Kivio)

Print - "Send/Mail as PDF file" tries to write to /directory/filename which usually does not exists.

As the PDF (and PS) files are temporary files, they should go into /tmp/kde-<username>/filename.pdf or similar and should be eventually removed.
