Summary: TLS protocol fails where it shouldn't
Product: kmail
Version: unspecified
Platform: Ubuntu Packages
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: NOR
Component: general
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs kde org
ReportedBy: bigbug21-bugtrack web de
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.5.6)
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages
OS: Linux
I have experienced quite some trouble trying to send messages via SMTP/TLS on almost all T-Mobile wireless networks at train stations all across Germany. Since the following error dialog says I should file a bug report and since I can't quite believe that one of the leading Wireless providers does not support a common protocol, here is the bug report.
The message below (in German) says that sending has failed because the TLS protocol is not supported. I should deactivate TLS in case I do want to send messages (unencrypted). In the end, it asks if it should continue sending the messages.
This is the full dialog in German:

Deaktivieren Sie TLS im Kontrollzentrum, falls Sie eine unverschlüsselte

Die Nachricht verbleibt im Postausgang, bis Sie entweder das Problem
beseitigt haben (z. B. falsche Adresse) oder die Nachricht aus dem

I have three profiles on my system, all for web.de e-mail accounts. They all deliver to smtp.web.de, port 25. Retrieving messages (via pop3/ssl) works flawlessly on all networks I have been on so far. I do not have any problem with my current settings on most wireless notworks and my cable access at home.
So, what should I supply in order to help solve what seems to be a kmail bug?
