Maybe a bug, if not, definitely a wish.
When i check "Leave messages on server" it fails to connect to the pop server.
If I uncheck it connects and downloads messages and of course deletes all the messages downloaded, which is not what I wanted.
Other than that it seems VERY slow on getting the messages from the server.

Love KMail otherwise.
