Summary: Automatically remove email addresses from body text
Product: kmail
Version: 1.9.5
Platform: Fedora RPMs
OS/Version: Linux
Status: NEW
Severity: wishlist
Priority: NOR
Component: general
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs kde org
ReportedBy: kde dotancohen com
Version: 1.9.5 (using KDE KDE 3.5.5)
Installed from: Fedora RPMs
OS: Linux
In the rare instances where one must FWD an email that was forwarded to him, the email body contains the email addresses of all those to whom the email was addressed in the past. Forwarding an email like this is bad because all the future recipricants will then see all the previous email addresses, which leads to the proliferation of spam.
I propose a tool that would replace all email addresses in the email body with a text string ("-- --", "ADDRESS REMOVED", or similar) that indicates that there email addresses had been removed.
Example:
> -----Original Message-----
> From: m.cohen oxford com

> Subject: Re: Payment by Western Union

> was sent as planned.
Would become:
> -----Original Message-----
> From: -- --
> To: -- --
> Sent: Thu, 8 Feb 2007 11:17 AM
> Subject: Re: Payment by Western Union
>
> Don't worry, the payment
