I have done a few more tests. I only see the problem when the sender uses Outlook together with a Microsoft Exchange Server. In the from-header the address changes from something like

"doe, john" <john.doe companyname no>

into

 =?iso-8859-1?Q?Olsen=2C_=D8ystein?= <Oystein.Olsen companyname no>

when the name contain Norwegian characters.
