I forgot to mention what the IMAP server is. Going to the port gives this:

* OK [CAPABILITY IMAP4REV1 LOGIN-REFERRALS STARTTLS AUTH=LOGIN] host.name.example.com IMAP4rev1 2001.315rh at Tue, 4 Dec 2007 08:30:11 +0000 (GMT)
