Summary: Spam filters run with too high priority
           Product: kmail
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: Debian testing
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: wishlist
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general
        AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs kde org
        ReportedBy: filipe.c.maia gmail com

Version: (using KDE KDE 3.5.7KDE 1.2)
Installed from: Debian testing/unstable PackagesDebian testing/unstable Packages
OS: Linux

Currently when spam filters are setup the spam filter backends are called with the default priority. This means that if users receive a substantial ammount of email their computer can become close to unusable while the computer is processing email.
I suggest that instead of calling the spam filter backends directly the call should be nice -n XX spam-backend, where XX is a suitable high number , because there is no good reason to impose such high priority on the spam filter, and the lower priority can really help the usability of the rest of the system.
