I'm really pleased to hear that it will be fixed in Akonadi come KDE 4.1 (comments: <A HREF="#c111">#111</A>, <A HREF="#c157">#157</A>). However, it would be much appreciated if anyone were able to give a very brief explanation as to how this will deal with the bug - particularly considering comments by others, including <A HREF="#c117">Comment #117</A>, which averred to the need for a complete re-write.

I should clarify that my post <A HREF="#c148">Comment #148</A> was actually intended to cover news related issues (for example kicker and kickoff crashing/being unresponsive) by way of relevant reporting rather than a direct complaint. Such report was in my view quite reasonable, as these issues are apparently directly caused by this bug and had not seemingly been so far reported anywhere here. The fact that this bug was opened in 2002, and is generally considered KDE's No 1 bug, just compounds matters, thus it is not unreasonable to encourage a small degree of discussion.
