It would be very helpful if mails could be tagged, like e.g. in Mozilla Thunderbird 2.0 and also Akkregator (experimental feature).
This could be unified with the flags "important" and "task", so no additional UI-clutter would be necessary. Just combine these two flags into a "Tags"-menu and offer customization.
If tags could be specified in a Search, dynamic folders (based on search criteria) would become even more powerful.

Nice to have: intelligent tagging based on previous mails/user-actions (like the intelligent Spam-filter).
