When opened KMail has lines in it's status bars. Then the whole screen changes to multicolored vertical lines, the computer is locked up, the hd light stays off. The only way to get a screen back is to hold the pwr button, until the computer turns off. 

Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. Open KMail
2. Open a message or reply to a message
3. That's it

Actual Results:
Cannot use computer and KMail at the same time. 

Expected Results:
Able to read and reply to mail.

How often does this happen?
Everytime

Additional Information:
DELL Optiplex GX-110, 256 MBs memory, Intel i810 video with 4069 MBs, 60GB HD, everything else standard.
