           Summary: Bands of Color Obscure Underlying Text Display
           Product: kmail
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: Compiled Sources
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general
        AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs kde org
        ReportedBy: ssenuta dialup cc

Version:            (using KDE KDE 3.5.6)
Installed from:    Compiled From Sources
Compiler:          gcc-4.0.1
OS:                Linux

The "select" button of kmail's Message Composer displays my email addresses with solid dark blue bands obscuring every other address.

I succeeded in eliminating these color bands in my address book
by using the address book's View menu * Modify View * Look&Feel and changing options Alternating Backgrounds to ---> None. However, this had no affect on my composer select button's dialog box

I also checked the kmailrc configuration file but the only thing I found there that could possibly have some effect was the section labeled [RecipientPicker]. This section only has these two entries:

CurrentCollection=1
Size=413,282

Please note that KDE-3.5.6 is installed in in the home directory of a user seperate from my system-wide KDE-3.4.2 installation

Here is a snip of the user's ~/.bash_profile:

  KDEDIR=/home/kdedev/kde-3.5.6
  PATH=/home/kdedev/kde-3.5.6/bin:$PATH
  LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/home/kdedev/kde-3.5.6/lib

  export KDEDIR PATH LD_LIBRARY_PATH
