Can I mark zones in timeline, e.g. by color?

So, I conclude that colored sections are not supported yet in KDenlive. It would be a really nice option, though and many DAWs (not sure about video editors) support it.

It came to my mind yesterday: you can create an invisible track (uncheck the film header icon) and place there color clips...

 A kludge to accomplish this somewhat is to make a transparent image (let's say zone.png, 1920x1080), add it to the project bin,  duplicate it for the number of zone types you wish, and rename them as needed.
