possible regression when moving clips

hi

i started a project with 17.04.3 then updated to 17.11.70 and noticed a
regression when moving clips in the timeline be it with the box select and
then drag or with the spacer tool.

if i open a new project in 17.11.70 and add twice as many clips to the
timeline, i am able to drag them smoothy without issues.

can anyone help debug/confirm this please?
