Repository: kdenlive Description ------- This patch allows users to control the automatic property of transitions when creating new transitions, for instance, through the timeline clip context menu, or by dragging and dropping a transition. For this, it implements a new configuration option, accessible both from the status bar, as well as the "timeline" tab of the configuration dialog. Additionally, this patch fixes the inconsistent behavior when copying and pasting transitions. The pasted transition now properly takes over the automatic setting from the clipboard. It doesn't happen to me when I simply move a few clips. But when moving something around 40, 50 clips, with transitions, and on at least two tracks, then I still get duplicates. In three of my current projects I had this issue. All projects were fresh starts. I'm not exactly sure, but corruption seems to hit transitions mostly. Luckily, with the automatic transition cleaner on reload, overlapping transitions get correctly removed ... leaving an unsafe feeling, though. The spacer tool is affected in the same way, at least I got corruption with both the spacer as well as the normal move tool. As I said, you need to move a larger chunk of timeline elements to trigger corruption. Unfortunately, in my work flow I need to do this regularly ... I'm still missing the function to enlarge an image clip in the timeline, where at the same time everything on unlocked tracks would automatically make room... ;) Best regards, Harald -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... Review request for Kdenlive. Changes ------- Submitted with commit a4191ce71025e3c5e6dda12961f3404100ecd92d by Jean-Baptiste Mardelle to branch master. (i saw there was some > progress, right?) Vincent is more familiar with PPA handling but he has some other (nice) business to mind these days. I will have a look tonight if I can sort it out. By the way, Narcis, Launchpad only offers Ubuntu targets, sorry. On the packaging side, yes there was some great progress. I now have an Snap and an AppImage ready for testing. However we still have to figure out how to handle security and hosting so it might still take some time (hope not too much) before we can make them publicly available. I am in discussion with people from Ubuntu for the snap package, and have yet to contact more KDE people for AppImage hosting... Repository: kdenlive Description ------- This patch adds the ability to not only extract a frame (in the monitors), but to immediately add it to the project for further use. - For the UI design, this is a separate function, not folded into the existing "Save Image" dialog. Instead, the user now has an additional menu item "Extract frame to project...". - When using "Extract frame to project", the following "Save Image to Project" file saver dialog proposes a (hopefully) suitable image file name. It bases on either the clip name (when invoked from the clip monitor) or the project name (when invoked from the project monitor), and the number of the frame extracted. This allows for a smooth workflow when extracting multiple still images from the same video clip. - The two menu items for extracting images are corrected to end in "...", as with both menu items the user will see a dialog following menu item selection. - The patch avoids duplicating code, so slotExtractCurrentFrame is used for both extraction, and the optional add-to-project step. This is achieved using an optional flag. The new menu item is wired up to slotExtractCurrentFrameToProject, which simply reroutes to slotExtractCurrentFrame using the optional flag. Select those timeline elements which, when selected, should raise the props. We default now to the classic Kdenlive behavior, that is, raising on clips, transitions, tracks. Just untick "clips" and you're set. > > Best regards, > Harald > > > -- Jesse DuBord > FILMMAKER Sent from Gmail -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... Review request for Kdenlive. Changes ------- Submitted with commit e9818f33b3bf14ddaf4e12fc15ff1e1b7396a23e by Jean-Baptiste Mardelle to branch Applications/16.08. Repository: kdenlive Description ------- This patch gives a little love to Kdenlive's library: - replaces the ambigious "+" icon to add a library clip to your project with the "add clip" icon, thus getting in line of adding a clip to the project bin. - improves on error reporting during playlist expansion: errors are now clearly reported to the user through the status bar reporting mechanism; most users won't have a terminal window visible while using Kdenlive, so they won't see the error debug messages. - fixes Kdenlive hanging for a very loooooooong time while trying to load producers after playlist expansion due to relative paths failing. This patch checks for relative producer urls during expansion and properly re-roots them based on the playlist's root element/directory. Of course, this does not fix issues where clips have been moved after a library playlist clip has been created. Repository: kdenlive Description ------- This patch improves the existing expansion of playlist clips in the timeline as follows: - improves on error reporting when there is not enough free track space to expand the clip, more precisly spelling out what amount of free track space is needed, as opposed to free tracks. - improves overall error reporting in the context of expanding playlist clips by adding user-visible reporting where we only had debug messages so far. - improves on collision detection, improving workflow for some Kdenlive library users, see below. - playlist clip expansion is no **down** instead of *up*: this better matches the overall timeline concept, where in the timeline transitions belong to the "b track" upper track, as opposed to the "a track". Transitions extend **below** the track they are placed on. - if there isn't enough free room on the timeline *below*, then, as before, the playlist clip is attempted to be shifted up for expansion in order to find enough free track space. - following the timeline model, expand clip does not regard a transition immediately above the playlist to be a collision. In fact, as playlist clips cannot possess transitions with a "b track" above their topmost playlist track, there can't be such a collision anyway. In turn, this patch improves the workflow for those users that have things like overlay logos on a top track and need to expand a playlist clip immediately below it.
