[kdenlive] Help with finding out which data files Kdenlive reads (qtblend problem)

Hi,

I'm lost with a problem I can't track down properly. I've compiled MLT 
and Kdenlive from their git masters. I'm installing them not into the 
system locations, but instead into $HOME/kdenlive-local/local. Running 
my local "melt -querty transitions" properly shows the "qtblend" 
transition being present.

I'm setting up the LD_LIBRARY_PATH to include 
$HOME/kdenlive-local/local/lib.

I'm setting up XDG_DATA_DIRS to include $HOME/kdenlive-local/local/share.

I'm setting XDG_CONFIG_DIRS to include $HOME/kdenlive-local/local/etc/xdg.

Now when I run Kdenlive I see two problems:

1. the "qtblend" transition does not show up in the transition list 
pane. However, the avfilter effects stuff correctly shows up...

2. the icons are a mess between updated breeze icon theme system icons 
as recently installed through Kubuntu updates and Kdenlive's own icons. 
My understanding is that since I installed the Kdenlive icons to my 
local folders they should show up correctly, superseding the system 
icons in any case.

Any idea as to what I'm doing wrong?
