help with bug

Hi

Two people in the studio are starting to work with Kdenlive and they use
LinuxMint (I am not familiar with this system). Eveytime they add an effect
to a track the project monitor turns black. See video at the bug tracker.

Any hint on how to fix this? Any Mint user can confirm this?
