    /these are pre-built binary packages from a package manager... they
    end up creating a lot of problems due to different versions of
    libraries being on different distros. i jyself dont have alot of
    issues because i use archlinux and the packages are always the
    latest. but in other distros you might have a lower version of mlt
    for example and it creates a lousy experience of kdenlive.//
    //

    /i bring this issue because of this post://
    //https://plus.google.com/102832634090162848940/posts/KTrDLjpNheM//
    //
    /
    /basically in the video (watched more than 40,000 times) this guy
    tried to use kdenlive and the experience kind of sucked because of
    package version issues that he wasn't aware of. //
    //
    /
    /i would suggest taking the shotcut approach to distributing
    kdenlive to maybe avoid many problems. (over at the bug tracker many
    issues are solved just by switching the mlt version.) blender does
    this as well. you download a folder, decompress it, run the program
    by double clicking on the binary file.

Hmm. Yeah. Well we do have the daily builds
https://userbase.kde.org/Kdenlive/Manual/Installation#Installing_from_daily_builds
Which are pretty much what you describe. What is missing is that these
builds are always bleeding edge git versions.

But what might be a good idea is to archive off the daily build that
corresponds to each stable release and offer that as an install option.
