I could work on this then ...
But anyways ;)
as far as I know nobody is currently working on it.
Hopefully the refactoring we are currently working on will atract tons
of new contributors not only to Kdenlive but also to MLT ;).
Even if it does not the situation will be improved anyways by reducing
the work we have to do on certain features. Well, at least in my dreams
;). To achieve this we want to make Kdenlive scriptable so that it is
easier for people to develop new features. Of course this will not
include something like a stabilization effect but maybe then someone has
enough time and will to work on it. (hm, I think this went a bit off topic)

We (silently) decided not to participate because we lack manpower to
mentor properly. But who knows how the situation is going to be like
next year.
