git blame found commit 3806 "Fix compilation warnings" which commented out
mlt_service_lock and mlt_service_unlock around this. I removed the comments
and found no compilation warnings. Maybe this is the cause?

If it is, maybe other code calling get_frame() should also get the service
lock?

Yeah, I don't know much about mlt, kdenlive or even Qt..
