Yes, that is big factor, but not the only. Put your 92+28 clips in a
folder or make symlinks to them in a folder. Then:
$ melt folder/* -consumer xml:test.mlt
creates a mlt-xml file containing all of the clips. Now, measure the
loading time:
$ time melt test.mlt -consumer null terminate_on_pause=1
--
