if this help, you can do.
smooth as keyframeable wold be nice to have, if you "zoom" to lower  
radius and change smooth during this.
this ist not important but would be nice to have (also nice to have in  
later versions again)

yes choosable option for % would be the best solution.
but as you said, it is not high prio, only a hint/idea for later.
