Definitely, yes. Multiple effects can be grouped into modules named 
libmlt...so. They are not all in libmltcore.so. The modules are loaded 
dynamically based upon registration in .dat files (consumers.dat, 
producers.dat, filters.dat, transitions.dat). See 
mlt/src/framework/mlt_repository.c
