I have first to congratulate all the developpers. I follow Kdenlive
for monre than one year now and the progress are incredible.

Previous versions where barely usable. New 0.4 is nearly as good as
windows competitors, still much lighter in use (I can edit photos
while rendering on a old low end machine!!).

However I have a question.

Do the quality level of rendering really work? o my 20Mb test video,
all the rendering levels (and bearly all the file types) gives the
same 20Mb size...

hoxever, a simple command line ffmpeg divides the size by 4...

command line:

ffmpeg -i test.flv result2.flv

original is (ffmpeg output):

Input #0, flv, from 'test.flv':
   Duration: 00:03:38.1, start: 0.000000, bitrate: 32 kb/s
   Stream #0.0: Video: flv, yuv420p, 320x240, 25.00 fps(r)
   Stream #0.1: Audio: mp3, 22050 Hz, stereo, 32 kb/s
Output #0, flv, to 'result.flv':
   Stream #0.0: Video: flv, yuv420p, 320x240, q=2-31, 200 kb/s, 25.00
fps(c)
   Stream #0.1: Audio: mp3, 22050 Hz, stereo, 64 kb/s

resulting file size 7.6Mb... (quality nearly as good as the original)

is there any thing i missed in kdenlive?

thanks
jdd
