I believe that writing the code for Ken Burns effect in Kdenlive
probably takes me much much less time (once I get a little bit of help
with the API) than learning even the most basic operations in Blender.
This is something for specialists who earn their living with 3D
animations which I am not.
Its GUI scares the hell out of me and I do neither have time nor
motivation to set up stuff like coordinate systems, 3D animations,
textures etc. just to show some pictures. (After an hour or two, I
discovered the image browser but clicking on the images has no effect,
there is no context menu and Blender does not give any clue of what you
can do with the images. I also found an editor view that seems to offer
some sequence editing similar to Kdenlive but again, it didn't react on
user input.)
Blender hasn't been designed with this application in mind, so unless
someone can prove that slide shows can be put together at least half as
fast as currently in Kdenlive, Blender is no option for me...
