Some ideas from the forums:

Feature 1:

Multiple timelines is a very useful and powerful feature. They are
called sequences in Avid Liquid and each sequence is its own group of
tracks, effects, transitions etc. In fact each sequence can be a
complete movie. You can switch between sequences just by choosing them
from a rack. They can exported into a single file (fused) and then
re-imported as a single clip to be used in other sequences. (The fused
sequence retains its original state in the project.) Its very useful
for breaking a large project up into more manageable pieces.

Feature 2:

Add support for uploading to / downloading from Youtube, google video, etc.

Feature 3:

In the actual version of kdenlive you have to use 2 track for a
transition, but it is a good idea to be able to use a transition in
one track.

Feature 4:

Add plugin support for effects. (perhaps some combinations with xml
description and so on...)
