Hello.

MLT installs a command line player called inigo.

Just try to play some mpeg file with it:
inigo test.mpg

It should open a window and play the mpeg file in it. If it doesn't 
work, there is probably something wrong with your install.

Please make sure you have all dependencies listed in 
http://kdenlive.sourceforge.net/downloads.html

(It is important to install them in the list order, and don't forget MLT++)

Let us know what was the problem if you find it.
