Well we could make that "overlay" optional. So, like I noted before, the 
cutter should tell the GUI if it's capable of overlaying, piping and 
display on an external monitor and what costs are associated with it. The 
GUI would then react to it. (for example by not showing a display area or 
showing a note like (external monitor) in the display area.
