Actually, that is not the case as I discovered (and found a solution today).
Someone on #qt told me it was a style issue. In sysetmsettings, I converted the
style from "Cleanlooks" to "Plastique", and then the button order was
KDE-style. After I converted it back to Cleanlooks, it was back to a
GNOME-style button order. So I'm setting it to Plastique for now.
