it's fat32 formatted.

copying copying from one partition to another seems ok on same hardrive but unsure as i can't test with loads of data as don't have enough disk space.

haven't tried shell commands, not sure of best ones to try using? can you advise on commands and i'll report back. thanks for looking into this...
