           Summary: keyboard shortcuts: redesign to minimize need for LMB
                    clicks
           Product: kdelibs
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: Ubuntu Packages
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: wishlist
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general
        AssignedTo: kdelibs-bugs kde org
        ReportedBy: bluedzins wp pl

Version:            (using KDE 4.0.82)
Installed from:    Ubuntu Packages

I just took a look how many LMB clicks it takes to redefine some keys. Result -- a lot.

So... :-) why not in-place editing?

Instead of displaying just info, put there an active widget plus clear widget. Just a bit more space.

USECASES:
1) I would like to assign key.shortcut to "walk through windows", I click on a button for such action,
1.1) button would be pressed, I press win+tab, button would be now released (the same visual effect as in current assignment pane), voila, nothing more
1.2) oh, wait, I don't want to do this, I click again on this button, it is now released

2) I would like to set the default assignment for it, I click RMB on the button, context menu appears, I choose "set the default: alt+tab"

ADVANTAGES:
* clear design
* no animations (this is a problem since currently the content is constantly going down and up) -> no distractions
* less clicks
* time saved
