I have kde 4.0.3 on hardy heron kubuntu and many message boxes appear with the above complaint "KDEInit could not launch <program>" although the program appears to open!!

I did not track when does this exactly happen, but it occurs most often when I try to launch kde 3 apps (esp. from the ALT+F2 launcher "emphasis on the previous" .. or even kate from konqueror etc.)

I will try to notice a pattern the next few days.
