That looks like it got black instead of the correct color (white in this 
case) prior to mixing to get the color actually used.

Peter, isn't this your code? I want to say I saw something using 
Qt::black that looked suspicious (I think it was this very bug, even), 
but ignored it because it was working properly for me (on Linux).
