Fix the crash (take 2)

Well, I didn't know about those bugs, but in any case I am posting a patch for
this bug report.

I have seen bug 168427 and as I said before, the backtraces here are not
relevant. It is not a duplicate of this bug, is a different issue.

However, I have improved the patch (you can read the code comments of the patch
for further information).

About reassigning bug 168427, no, it is fine on kdelibs/kio bugs, but for sure
not a duplicate, just as new.
