Hey,
Thanks for the mockup!
I have been getting feedback about the device text being too big and wasteful from others too, so I feel you may have a point ;)
However I'm not yet sold on slimming down everything to a single line either, at least based on the mockup alone.
At least to me, it looks much more cluttered (albeit with more devices and shortcuts shown). Also, the device cards feel less separated than I'd like and the touch target to enter device screen is very small.
Aesthetically though, I don't mind it as much as I thought I would though, so it's certainly worth pursuing imo.
