Dates of copied files

Hello

My gnome kde-connect copy my files OK but alter the orginal files dates to the present time. Is it by design? 

I would expect it retain the metadata intact for any copied file.

This makes copied files far less usable as all dates are reset.

Is there a setting somewhere to fix this behavior?
