Hi,

There is no intentional dependency on using Plasma.

If you are able to launch the GUI app it should work. It just uses dbus to talk to the daemon.

If you aren't able to launch the GUI app, there may be some dependency we don't know about. If you try to launch kdeconnect-sms on the command line it might print out an error.
